RatedUP questions, answered.
What is RatedUP?
RatedUP is a web service for local businesses that asks completed-job customers for Google reviews, sends configurable reminders, prepares replies for approval and tracks dated rating and review counts. It is designed for owners who want a repeatable request process without chasing each customer manually.
When do I actually get charged?
Your first month is charged as normal, because the promise is based on a full month of asking and the fourteen-day trial allows only twenty requests. After that first month, RatedUP does not charge you again until your Google review count has risen by ten since your plan started, for as long as you ask fifty customers a month through RatedUP. There is no time limit on this. A customer counts once however many texts, emails or reminders they receive, and a message we are told did not arrive does not count. A month where you ask fewer than fifty customers is charged as normal, and the promise carries on the month after. The target is ten more reviews than the count on the day your plan started, measured from the public Google review count we read once a day and keep dated. Before all of that, the fourteen-day trial takes no payment at all and stops on its own unless you keep your plan.
How much does RatedUP cost?
RatedUP costs £79 a month or £840 a year for Starter, £149 a month or £1,500 a year for Growth, and £199 a month or £1,920 a year for Pro. These are the full amounts paid because RatedUP is not VAT registered, so there is no VAT to add at checkout. Every plan includes every feature; the price only changes how many review requests you send each month, so you can start small and move up without losing anything. Annual prices show their monthly equivalent and saving. Monthly plans can be cancelled and annual plans can be stopped before renewal.
Does RatedUP have a free trial?
Yes. The fourteen-day trial needs a card and includes twenty real customer review requests in total. Choose a monthly or annual plan before checkout. Nothing is charged during the trial, and nothing is charged when it ends: the trial stops on its last day unless you choose to keep your plan from account billing. You are never billed automatically for a trial you forgot about. You can also pay for your selected plan early to use its monthly limit; trial requests made in that calendar month count towards it.
Does RatedUP post fake reviews?
No. RatedUP asks real customers after a real completed job, does not filter by expected sentiment, and does not gate negative reviews. Every completed-job customer follows the same request rule. RatedUP helps ask for an honest Google review; it does not write, buy or submit reviews on a customer’s behalf.
Does RatedUP send texts and email?
Yes. RatedUP can send the first review request by text and email, followed by zero to three configurable reminders. One completed job counts as one review request, regardless of channels or reminders. Quiet hours can move a scheduled message forwards, and every text includes a one-tap opt-out.
Is RatedUP GDPR and PECR compliant?
RatedUP is built around data-minimisation, suppression and lawful messaging controls, but compliance depends on how your business collects and uses customer data. You need a lawful reason to provide contact details, accurate records and an opt-out process. Corporate outreach must also exclude sole traders and ordinary partnerships.
Can I use my own wording?
Yes. You can use your own wording on every review request and reminder. RatedUP keeps the business identity and opt-out mechanism in the message. The wording should ask for an honest review after a completed job and should not offer an incentive, filter sentiment or selectively ask only likely-positive customers.
What happens if a customer opts out?
An opted-out customer is added to a suppression record and RatedUP checks that suppression immediately before every future send. Text messages include a one-tap opt-out link. An opt-out stops future review-request messages from RatedUP.
Does RatedUP work for electricians and installers?
Yes. RatedUP is built for local service businesses, including electricians and domestic installers such as window, door, driveway, conservatory and solar businesses. The workflow starts when a job is complete, asks for a Google review, follows up within your rules and shows dated review-count comparisons.
Is RatedUP affiliated with Google?
No. RatedUP is independent and is not endorsed by or affiliated with Google. Google Places data is attributed to Google. RatedUP compares dated Google rating and review counts, prepares replies for you to approve and does not claim to improve map position or search ranking.
What data does RatedUP store?
RatedUP stores the customer details needed for a request, including name, mobile number or email, branch and completed-job status, plus message delivery records, link clicks and opt-outs. It also stores account, billing, security, audit and dated Google review-count records. It does not need job value, card data or private job notes.
What counts as a review request?
One completed job counts as one review request against the plan limit, whether RatedUP sends by text, email or both. Reminders do not count separately. The trial includes twenty requests across its full fourteen days. Afterwards, Starter includes 75 requests a month, Growth includes 100 and Pro includes unlimited requests for normal activity from your own completed jobs. Pro does not cover bulk or abusive sending.
Can I cancel RatedUP?
Yes. Monthly plans can be cancelled in the billing page, and annual plans can be stopped before their next yearly renewal. Cancellation stops the next renewal and does not reverse a period already paid for unless the law says otherwise.
