Ask for the review while the job is fresh.
Start with a dated comparison of your Google rating and review count against three nearby businesses in the same category.
What is a review request?
A review request is a message asking a real customer to leave an honest Google review after a completed job. RatedUP sends the first request by text and email, can send reminders under your rules, and stops reminders when the link is clicked or the review count rises.
UK messaging points
PECR treats companies, Scottish partnerships, limited liability partnerships and government bodies as corporate bodies that can be contacted by email or text. Sole traders and some partnerships are treated as individuals, so they need a different lawful basis and should not be included in corporate prospecting. Your business remains responsible for having a lawful reason to use customer details, stating who is sending the message and providing a simple opt-out.
RatedUP keeps suppression records and checks them before future sends. This is practical compliance support, not legal advice; check the current ICO guidance for your situation before sending.
Why review counts matter locally
People comparing a local electrician or installer can see a business’s public Google rating and review count. A dated review-count comparison shows how your count changes against nearby businesses. It does not prove why a customer chose a business, improve map position or guarantee ranking.
Honest limits
RatedUP cannot create reviews, control what Google publishes, attribute an individual review to a named customer or promise a map position. It asks every completed-job customer using the same rule, does not filter expected sentiment and does not gate negative reviews.
